Your family can create one new moment in each Monday-to-Sunday week without a paid membership. That shared allowance can be used by any active family member, and the moment can be typed or recorded on iPhone or Apple Watch. Separately permitted Enhanced transcription and AI organization, milestones, highlights, photos, and notifications remain available. Membership makes new moment creation unlimited and lets the family owner create invitations.

In the United States, Little Moments is $4.99 per month or $29.99 per year. Eligible new subscribers receive a two-week free trial when Apple shows that offer in the purchase sheet. Apple determines eligibility and displays the final local price and currency. The subscription renews automatically unless the family owner cancels at least 24 hours before the trial or current billing period ends.

No. One active owner subscription allows unlimited moment creation for every active adult invited into that same Little Moments family journal and lets the owner create new invitations. At launch, only the family owner can start, restore, or manage the membership. This is an in-app family benefit; Apple Family Sharing is not used.

Open Little Moments Settings to see membership status or open Apple’s subscription settings. You can also go to iOS Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or billing period ends to avoid the next renewal. Deleting Little Moments or your Little Moments account does not cancel an Apple subscription.

Make sure you are signed into the Little Moments family-owner account and the Apple Account that made the purchase, then choose Restore Purchases in Little Moments Settings. Reopen the app after the restore finishes. If unlimited creation is still missing, email support with the Little Moments account email and any visible error—never send an Apple Account password or payment-card details.

They are two separate, optional permissions. Enhanced transcription can send a recording, Apple transcript, optional child selection, and limited spelling context to compare several possible transcripts and prepare one evidence-grounded recommendation. AI organization and highlights can send chosen text and limited family context to suggest titles, dates, milestones, or highlight drafts. Allowing one does not allow the other, paying does not grant either permission, and you can change each choice in Settings.

Yes. You can type or record your weekly free moment without AI. Declining Enhanced transcription keeps transcription on the iPhone. Declining AI organization saves your chosen words without an AI-generated title or metadata. Existing writing remains editable, and you can dictate replacement highlight prose locally without an AI rewrite.

Little Moments may need to prepare Apple’s on-device speech model the first time. Keep the app open while setup finishes. Apple transcribes on the iPhone first; only if you separately allow Enhanced transcription can the app then compare that result through the online AI transcription service.

Open the saved moment’s overflow menu and choose Correct transcript or Review this moment. The original Apple transcript remains available there. Check that the person’s first name or alias is saved in Settings so it can be used as a local spelling hint next time.

Keep the paired iPhone available and confirm both devices have Bluetooth or Wi-Fi access so a pending recording can reach the signed-in journal. The iPhone handles transcription and review. A saved Watch moment counts toward the family’s weekly free allowance unless the family has unlimited creation.

If Photos access is Limited, Little Moments can show only the items Apple has allowed. Use the choose-more control or Browse all Photos to open Apple’s system picker. Photo date filtering stays on the iPhone.

An active membership is required for the family owner to create a new invitation. Invited members are full co-editors: they can view, add, edit, and delete shared profiles, moments, audio, photos, milestones, and highlights. Existing members and already-issued invitation codes remain intact if membership later ends. Little Moments does not currently offer a read-only role.

Yes. A suggestion can be dismissed, and a confirmed milestone can be archived or restored without deleting its source moment.

Only when the family owner opts in. Weekly drafts are checked Wednesday for the previous Monday–Sunday week; monthly drafts on the 4th for the previous month; yearly drafts on January 1. Existing exact-period chapters are never overwritten.

Birthdays remain part of the journal and highlights. Advance birthday cards are off by default for a memorial profile, every family member controls their own preference, and the app does not invent a present age.

Check that the phone has a network connection, raise the media volume, and try reopening the moment. If it still fails, email support with the app version, device model, OS version, and any visible error. Do not attach the recording unless we ask.

Open Settings, scroll to Account actions, and choose the deletion option. The effect differs for a family owner and a member. Read the full account deletion guide.
